The previous exhibition of Niko Pirosmanashvili’s work in Tallinn was held in 1976, at the Art Museum of Estonia, in the Kadriorg Palace. After four decades the Estonian public once again have the opportunity to become acquainted with the artworks of the famous Georgian self-taught artist Niko Pirosmanashvili at the Mikkel Museum in Tallinn, as a symbol of friendship and partnership between our countries. The exhibition and the book Pirosmani: The World of a Lonely Genius present the painter’s masterpieces from the Niko Pirosmanashvili State Museum, located in Mirzaani, Pirosmani’s native village; it is the first time that this collection has been exhibited abroad. The project also includes several artworks belonging to the Georgian National Museum.
