The Art Museum of Estonia Friends of Art Society will continue to award the Adamson-Eric Young Artist scholarship initiated by the Tallinn Hansa Lions Club in 2011 to recognise and encourage the study of applied arts, design and visual arts by young creative people.
Statute
1. This statute established the principles and organisational basis for awarding the Adamson Eric Young Artist Scholarship (hereinafter, the scholarship).
2. The goal of the scholarship is to recognise and encourage the study of applied art, design and visual arts by young artists.
3. The amount of the scholarship is €3,000 (three thousand euros). The scholarship is exempt from income tax for the recipient.
4. All Estonian art students up to the age of 35 who are studying for a master’s or doctoral degree in fine arts or design in Estonia or abroad can apply for the scholarship.
5. The scholarship application must include:
- an application stating the purpose of the scholarship;
- the applicant’s CV;
- a certificate from an institution of higher education confirming the applicant’s
enrolment in a master’s or PhD programme; and - the applicant’s portfolio.
6. The documents and supporting materials may be submitted on paper, electronically or as
physical objects.
7. Applications can be submitted to the Adamson-Eric Museum, a branch of the Art Museum of Estonia (at Lühike jalg 3, 10130 Tallinn or by email to ) every year
by 30 April.
8. The scholarship committee includes representatives from the following:
– Data Plate OÜ
– Adamson-Eric Museum,
– Art Museum of Estonia,
– Art Museum of Estonia Friends of Art Society
– Estonian Academy of Arts
– Estonian Artists’ Association
A member of the scholarship committee shall not participate in the evaluation of applications if he or she is directly related to the particular applicant or cannot be impartial for any other reason.
9. The task of the scholarship committee is to review the scholarship applications and determine whether they qualify or not, and to select the scholarship winner.
10. The scholarship is awarded to only one laureate, cannot be distributed among several recipients, and the decision of the scholarship committee is final.
11. The recipient of the scholarship is announced yearly in August to mark the birthday of the artist Adamson-Eric.
12. The winner will receive the scholarship as one payment from the Art Museum of Estonia Friends of Art Society no later than 1 September of the year it is awarded.
13. News about the winner of the scholarship will be published on the website of the Art Museum of Estonia’s Adamson-Eric Museum and on social media.
