Ceramics: Decorating with Engobes 09/10/2025 | 17:00

In this two-part ceramics course, you will create a clay vessel of your choice and decorate it with engobes. The decoration uses a technique common in Ancient Greece – specifically the Minoan culture – in which patterns are applied to the clay surface with a natural fibre “brush”.

Jarõna Ilo is the ceramics master at Kumu Studios and has worked as a freelance ceramics artist for over twenty years. Her work emphasises both commercial ceramics and more abstract forms and techniques, which the master shares with both experienced and new ceramic lovers.
