Triin Ruubel is an acclaimed violin soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. She studied at the Tallinn Music High School under Tiiu Peäske and at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre with Professor Petru Munteanu, winning prizes at several international competitions. As a soloist, Triin Ruubel has performed with numerous orchestras across Estonia and Europe, collaborating with conductors such as Neeme Järvi, Arvo Volmer, and Justus Frantz, and made her debut at the Berlin Philharmonie together with her twin sister, pianist Kärt Ruubel. Her repertoire spans from classical to contemporary music and includes several world premieres. In addition to her performing career, she teaches at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and received the Annual Award of the Endowment for Music of the Estonian Cultural Endowment in 2017 for her outstanding artistry as a soloist and concertmaster.
The Old Town Educational College String Orchestra is a 26-member ensemble consisting of students from the Old Town Educational College’s Music School. Founded in 1996, the orchestra brings together young musicians aged 14 to 20 and performs mainly Estonian music — from Rudolf Tobias, Cyrillus Kreek, and Mart Saar to Tõnu Kõrvits, Arvo Pärt, and Erkki-Sven Tüür. The orchestra gives around 40 performances each season across Estonia and has collaborated with many inspiring artists, including Ain Anger, Hans Christian Aavik, Kadri Voorand, Estonian Voices, and many others.
