“Dives Toletana”. Curator’s tour by Carlos Alonso Pérez-Fajardo
The exhibition “Dives Toletana. Treasures of Toledo Cathedral from the Middle Ages to El Greco” is introduced by an art historian and one of the curators of the exhibition Carlos Alonso Pérez-Fajardo.
For the first time in Estonia, viewers will be able to see original works by El Greco and rare art treasures from Toledo Cathedral – one of the most important sanctuaries in Spain. Toledo Cathedral opens its extraordinary treasure chamber and invites you on a journey of over a thousand years from the Visigoths to the Spanish Golden Age. The walls of this sanctuary contain layers of living heritage: the spiritual depth of the Visigoths, the subtle geometry of Islamic art, the brilliant heights of Gothic architecture and the humanistic innovation of the Renaissance.
Participation is free of charge with an annual pass to the Art Museum of Estonia.
