English tour: Kadriorg Palace as a work of art
The tour will present the history of the construction and the glory days through 300 years of Kadriorg Palace – a jewel of Northern European Baroque architecture – along with selected works from the exhibition of European and Russian art. The tour is led by the art historian Kerttu Männiste.
Kadriorg Palace is the most ambitious and artistically outstanding building built in Estonia in the 18th century. Built according to the plans of the Italian architect Nicola Michetti as a summer residence of the Russian Tsar Peter I, the Baroque palace houses the collections of Western European and Russian painting, prints, sculpture and applied art of the Art Museum of Estonia. The Kadriorg Art Museum is the only museum in Estonia dedicated to early European and Russian art.
On the first Wednesday of every month, there is an English-language tour of the Kadriorg Art Museum or the Mikkel Museum. Follow our website and social media!
