Entertainment Tour “Practical Art”
An exciting exhibition visit for groups of friends, birthday guests and work teams.
Together with a programme manager, you will visit the exhibition “Art is Design is Art”, where the participants will get acquainted with Estonian design of the 1970s and 1980s. The environment, materials and objects in the space around us have a surprisingly large effect on perception. Soviet Estonian design produced many interesting examples of design created by fine arts graduates, and several designers and architects created visual art. The result is a number of compelling intertwining works of art and design. The works displayed at the exhibition encourage one to think about when and how our surroundings are designed, what role our heavy consumer goods play and how different spaces make us feel.
After the introduction of the exhibition, the participants head to the Kumu Education Centre, where a workshop will take place.
The group can choose between two workshops:
- A ceramics workshop, where ceramic dishes with simple and beautiful designs will be made
- A printmaking workshop, where participants will design logos of their names, which will then be printed on tote bags
Book in advance. In Estonian, Russian and English
