Rustiques figulines: Flora and Fauna on Ceramics
The course is held in Estonian, but English translation is possible.
In the two-part ceramics course, the participants will make plates or platters from clay sheets inspired by the works of the French ceramicist and alchemist Bernard Palissy. His rustiques figulines (rustic style) ceramics began to gain admiration in the mid 16th century. These objects were decorated with plant and animal reliefs. Palissy’s favourite form was an oval platter that resembled a small pond, with various wildlife motifs. The result of the course will be a beautiful history-inspired dish with eye-catching reliefs.
