Guitar Evening: Hans Joosep Alt, Cassandra Herne, Karl Petti

The guitar evenings feature students from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, from the guitar classes of Heiki Mätlik and Kirill Ogorodnikov. In the acoustically excellent hall of the A. Eric Museum, young guitar soloists and future guitar teachers will perform music ranging from past centuries to the present day.

Hans Joosep Alt began his guitar studies at the Tallinn Music High School at the age of seven. His teachers have included Julia Kahro-Reinman, Vahur Kubja, and Sulo Kiivit. Hans Joosep is currently studying at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT) in the interpretation pedagogy program under Kirill Ogorodnikov. He has a particular fondness for Renaissance and Baroque music.

Cassandra Herne previously studied guitar at the Georg Ots Music School. This year, she is completing her master’s degree in guitar pedagogy at EAMT. Cassandra is also a teacher at the music department of Kose Hobby School. In 2018, her poetry collection “Karjutud vaikusse” (“Shouted into Silence”) was published by Hea Tegu Publishing.

Karl Petti studied classical guitar at Tartu II Music School and the Heino Eller Music School in Tartu. Currently, he is studying in Kirill Ogorodnikov’s guitar class at EAMT. In 2017, he earned a bachelor’s degree in composition and electronic music from EAMT. Karl is active as a performer, teacher, and composer. He has performed in numerous countries, including Lebanon, China, Israel, Iceland, the Netherlands, Italy, and France.
