Heavenly landscapes

“Heavenly landscapes” is a lively programme for groups of friends, birthday parties and work groups.

The programme begins with a guided tour of the exhibition Universe of the Farmyard: Creators of Southern Estonia, which offers an overview of the identity of southern Estonia and introduces the works and the cultural environment of artists from the region.

The exhibition focuses on artists from southern Estonian from the beginning of the 20th century whose works and their later interpretations are centred on certain characteristics of the region, including a romantic view of life, creativity, cheerfulness and extreme uniqueness. The works at the exhibition include landscapes, depictions of country living, rustic farm atmosphere, and the first radical and modernist aspects of art from the beginning of the 20th century. After the guided tour, the participants will move to Kumu’s studio, where they will each create a pastel painting, inspired by the exhibition, showing a landscape or nature. The workshop is suitable for all skill levels.

Registration required. In Estonian, Russian and English
Length of the programme: two hours
