Inner Landscape Workshop: Contact

A workshop based on art therapy techniques will be held in conjunction with the exhibition They Began to Talk, which uses the works of contemporary artists to examine the intertwining of body and environment in a world suffering from the climate crisis. Focusing on the participants’ own interior landscapes, the workshop will explore contact with both the inner self and the outside world, an experience in which somatic perception and imagination play important roles alongside the senses. The aim of the workshop is to relax, to see and to understand more clearly one’s own value in the present day, and to establish better contact with oneself and with what lies outside.

Starting with simple exercises to set aside everyday thoughts and noises for the workshop, you will then approach the topic step by step through the creation of works. Compositions of symbols, objects, characters and colours will emerge or be constructed in visual imagery. The creative practice will be followed by reflection, description and formulation of the participants’ works.

The practical workshop is led by the artist and art teacher Belliisi Seenemaa, who has studied transpersonal psychology and hypnotherapy and is currently studying to become a practitioner of breath-work and theta therapy. Belliisi has worked as a sound and creative therapist in group and individual sessions since 2016 and as an art teacher since 2009.
