Kadriorg Palace Ensemble: Indoors and Outdoors
Where was the food prepared for the monarchs and their entourages visiting Kadriorg Palace? Where did herbs and oranges grow? Who was the castellan and where did he live?
Kadriorg is not just a magnificent and impressive main palace building: it is a palace and park ensemble, which over the centuries has been made up of buildings with different functions, garden and park areas.
As we walk around Kadriorg Palace’s surroundings, we will look at the existing outbuildings and talk about those that have not survived. Inside Kadriorg Palace, we will study the historical plans and a model of the palace to find out what major alterations have been made to the palace’s main building and what uses the rooms have been put to.
The programme starts and ends at the Kadriorg Art Museum.
The walk around the palace’s surroundings is 1.5 km.
Total duration is about 75 minutes.
