Oil Pastel Still Life
07.03, 14.03, 21.03, 28.03 I 17.30–19.30
During this four-part art course, participants will create a still life using various oil pastel techniques. Each class will mix learning with hands-on drawing. You’ll explore different ways to use oil pastels while learning about composition, colour and the history of the still life.
As part of the course, you’ll also have the chance to visit the Mei Sisters exhibition and get inspiration from Lydia Mei’s still life works.
This course is ideal for beginners who want to start drawing but need guidance, as well as for amateurs eager to experiment with new materials and techniques. Throughout the course, Andrei will introduce the history, technical aspects and expressive possibilities of oil pastels. By the end of the programme, you’ll have created four to five oil pastel still lifes and gained valuable insights into this versatile medium.
Andrei Kedrin is an artist and part-time lecturer at the Estonian Academy of Arts. Passionate about drawing, painting and street art, he is also the founder of Wednesday Sketching events and the Sodacats street art collective.
