Family Mornings: Latin-American Rhythms
In September Kumu Family Mornings will take place in the Great Hall exhibition “History and Mystery: Latin American Art and Europe”. This is the first time that Latin American art heritage has been shown on such a large scale in Estonia. The exhibition features art from two eras: the Spanish Colonial period from the 17th to the 19th century, and the modernist art of the 20th century from Argentina, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Venezuela.
At Family Morning we will talk about Latin American art and its links to European art. We will learn how artists have made indigenous heritage part of modern art. Together we will also discover the wonderful rhythms of cities and nature that fascinated the artists. The programme ends with a colourful and creative workshop.
About
Kumu Family Mornings is a series of events for families with children aged 4–8. It is a great opportunity to visit an exhibition and create art of your own with your children. Each month we introduce one of our exhibitions and together with children and their parents we ask questions and discover stories, and meanings hidden behind the artworks.
In addition, children and parents are encouraged to experiment with different creative workshops in the studio. Family Mornings are held in Estonian, Russian or English.
