Programme:

Bach, Mägi A centuries-long handshake between the works of two great masters. Ester Mägi’s solo works for organ, Bach’s partita for solo violin and, of course, works for two performers by both composers. The concert will feature both organs of Niguliste church.

Organist Kadri Toomoja is a young Estonian organist, pianist and harpsichord player, who regularly performs with solo recitals, as well as with various top Estonian ensembles such as the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, ENSO, Estonian National Male Choir, Vox Clamantis, Ellerhein Girls’ Choir, Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir, Voces Tallinn, Collegium Musicale, and others.

Violinist Robert Traksmann holds a master’s degree from the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin. He has performed as a soloist with several orchestras, including the ERSO, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, German Youth Symphony Orchestra and Pärnu City Orchestra, Oulu and Jyväskylä Symphony Orchestras. As an active chamber musician, he is a member of Trio ’95 and the string quartet M4GNET. Robert Traksmann will use a violin (1775-1780) made jointly by Giuseppe Gagliano and his brother Antonio, and a pogo (1890) made by Joseph Artur Vigneroni. Both violin and bow are the property of the Eesti Pillifond.
