The Niguliste Museum transforms into a magical fairytale land during the holiday season, featuring a spectacular Christmas tree and enchanting unicorns
For the eighth consecutive year, the Niguliste Museum, in collaboration with the interior decoration company Shishi, invites people to celebrate the magnificent holiday period with us.
Christmas at Niguliste has become an eagerly awaited tradition and marks the beginning of the winter holiday season at the museum. For the eighth year in a row, the museum’s Christmas tree will be decorated by the interior decoration company Shishi. As has become customary, the theme of the Christmas tree will not be revealed until the opening event on 1 December at 12 noon. During the day, Havryil Sydoryk’s harpsichord concert and organ music will enhance the holiday spirit.
On Advent Sundays, Reval Kondiiter offers gingerbread, pies and mulled juice from the Gingerbread Bus at the entrance to the Niguliste Museum.
This Advent season, Niguliste invites you to explore the enchanting world of unicorns at the exhibition Unicorn in the Magical Forest. The church tower will also be open to visitors, with a glass lift taking you up to the top floor for a magical view of Tallinn’s Old Town, sparkling with Christmas lights.
On Advent Sundays, visitors are welcome to attend workshops and listen to organ music and concerts by young musicians. Students and kindergarten children are invited to participate in the annual Christmas-themed museum class, “The Legends of St Nicholas”.
Alongside the traditional series “Half an hour of organ music”, we will treat visitors to several exciting and festive concerts during the Christmas season (Christmas Jazz, Corelli Music, the Ellerhein Girls’ Choir, the Tallinn Boys’ Choir and Veronika Portsmuth’s choir). As the new year begins, music lovers will enjoy the 38th international Niguliste Organ Week, which starts on 1 January 2025.
