Art and Environment
This programme combines a tour of the exhibition Art in the Age of the Anthropocene and a workshop where the participants can try their hand at sustainable crafting at Kumu Art Studios. The programme is ideal for groups of friends or colleagues or for birthday parties.
During the visit to the exhibition, we will explore the Anthropocene’s human-induced impacts on the planet and how they have been addressed by Estonian artists of different periods. The ever-increasing environmental and climate issues require not only technological and political solutions, but also challenge the established patterns of human behaviour and test our ethical beliefs and powers of imagination.
The tour is followed by a workshop where the participants create their own notebooks from posters, magazines and other recyclable materials. The participants will learn how to bind a notebook and make origami covers for it.
The workshop is suitable for adults and youth from the age of 13. No previous experience in art or crafts is required.
Available in Estonian, English or Russian. Advance booking is required.
