Art Walk. Archaeologists of Memory: Vitols Contemporary Art Collection
Drop-in guided tour in English
The Kumu Art Museum offers you a great opportunity to spend your leisure time in a vibrant artistic space. On the last Sunday of every month, we offer a special drop-in guided tour that will introduce one of our exhibitions. Through our museum mediators, you can gain deeper insight into art and history.
Archaeologists of Memory is the first exhibition to offer in-depth theme-based insight into the Vitols Contemporary, one of the most intriguing art collections in the Baltics, focused on the contemporary art of Central and Eastern Europe. In the words of the collectors, Irina Vītola and Māris Vītols, their collection has been inspired by their interest in the tremendous social and political changes in Central and Eastern Europe since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, as well as by the cultural diversity of the region. The exhibition presents artworks from Latvia, Romania, Poland, Russia, Czechia, Lithuania, Estonia, Georgia, Slovakia, Albania and Ukraine.
Art Walk at Kumu takes place on the last Sunday of every month at 3 pm. NB! Check the exact schedule because national holidays might affect this!
