A fun group visit to the museum for friends, birthday guests or colleagues. First, a programme guide will take you on a tour of the exhibition Do Come in, the Door Is Open! Edith Karlson, Mary Reid Kelley and Eva Mustonen, which brings together three artists who all work in different media but speak somewhat similar languages. Edith Karlson’s, Eva Mustonen’s and Mary Reid Kelley’s artworks tell stories through sculptures and video projects. The exhibition, mixing well-known pieces by the artists with their newest works, unfolds before the viewer through four keywords which play with ideas related to openness, entry or borders: “monster”, “body”, “home” and “explosion”.
The running thread in the exhibition is monsters. We will focus on the Greek roots of the word “monster”, involving both the terrible and the terrific. After the tour, all participants can create works of art inspired by the exhibition in the Kumu studios.
