Drukmo Gyal Dakini concert
Enchanting, bright and with a wonderful voice, Tibetan singer and yogi Drukmo Gyal Dakini will give a concert together with Estonian musicians at Kadriorg Art Museum. Together with Drukmo, Joosep Kõrvits (cello) and Taavi Peterson (guitar) will be on stage.
Drukmo Gyal, who was born in northeast Tibet, into a Buddhist environment, where she learned how to chant ancient Tibetan mantras from her grandfather and parents. Drukmo Gyal came to the west 8 years ago, under world renown physician – Dr.Nida Chenagtsang’s guidance, she and her friends aim to build an international school and healing centre of Tibetan medicine in Estonia.
In Sanskrit, man means mind and tra means protection. Mantras have a wonderful sound and have a harmonizing effect. Drukmo Gyal talks between chants of mantras about how to protect the mind in today’s fast-paced society, i.e. maintain peace of mind and have a positive attitude towards the surroundings. Mantras also play an important role in Tibetan medicine, the treatment uses powerful formulas to create sound vibrations – mantras, syllables of initial sounds and words from Sanskrit and Tibetan languages.
The ticket for the concert is 20 euros, 10 euros for high school or university students and pensioners (children up to 12 years old are admitted free of charge with a parent). The proceeds of the concert will be used for charitable purposes to support Tibetan culture.
If you are unable to purchase a ticket for economic or health reasons, but still want to attend the concert, please contact the organizers.
