Lembe Lokk. Songs of Leonard Cohen
Secret Chords is singer Lembe Lokk’s tribute to Leonard Cohen. The project was launched in November 2017 to mark the first anniversary of Cohen’s passing and has been touring successfully in France and across Europe for nine years.
The distinctive arrangements created through the collaboration of three musicians — bassist François Puyalto, clarinettist Michel Schick, and singer Lembe Lokk — are both ambitious and exquisitely sensitive.
Their interpretation of Cohen is at once a heartfelt cry of protest, the blues, and poetry as delicate as air. Beloved songs take on a new life, without ever inviting comparison to the originals.
Each of the three musicians brings a deeply personal and powerful musical universe to the stage, and the dialogue between them is as captivating to watch as it is to hear.
