Longing for Lost Space. Sirja-Liisa Eelma
The exhibition is inspired by the sense of silence and timelessness inherent in the 19th-century Biedermeier interiors and the meanings and interactions between hidden and visible spaces.
In pictures and in life, interiors mainly function as backdrops for events and scenes. But what do these restricted and static environments hold in themselves? In this exhibition, the artist focuses on the details of historical paintings that may initially go unnoticed, entering into a conceptual dialogue with them through her unique artistic language.
