Oboe-player and multiinstrumentalist Olev Ainomäe 70
Olev Ainomäe in Niguliste church will present a fascinating programme from Baroque pieces to premieres of Estonian contemporary music, and showcase the jubilarian’s masterful playing on a variety of period wind instruments. The multi-instrumentalist will also be joined by his friends and long-standing stage partners, including the early music ensemble Hortus Musicus, with whom Ainomäe has been collaborating consistently since 1972.

Olev Ainomäe has played in the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, has been a long-time member of the Estonian National Opera Orchestra (concertmaster of the oboe section from 1994 to 2014) and has taught oboe for many years at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, with Kalev Kuljus, Riivo Kallasmaa, Nils Rõõmussaar and many others among his students.
