Oil Pastel Self-Portrait
The participants will create self-portraits using oil pastels in this three-part art course. Each class will mix instruction with hands-on drawing. During the course, you’ll discover different ways to use oil pastels and learn about composition, colours and head proportions.
On Thursdays 17.10, 24.10, 31.10 17.30-19.30
Instructor: Andrei Kedrin
The course is perfect for beginners who want to draw portraits but need help getting started.
You can draw your own portrait or that of a friend or family member. Remember to bring a picture (digital or print-out) of the person you want to draw, or we can use mirrors in the studio for self-portraits. By the end of the course, you’ll have made three oil pastel portraits and learned a lot about oil pastel approaches and opportunities.
Andrei Kedrin is an artist and art instructor who mainly focuses on illustration, watercolour and street art. He initiated the Wednesday Sketching series of art events and co-founded the street art collective Sodacats.
