Learning by copying

The instructor of the course is Andrei Kedrin.

The course is in English.

During the three-part course, the students will explore how to create tones, light and shadows by copying a selected artwork. At the first meeting, works will be examined together in the museum’s exhibition hall and a black-and-white pencil copy of the selected painting will be made. At the second meeting, the course will be held in a studio, where a monochrome Grisaille technique painting will be created. In the last session, a colourful watercolour painting will be painted based on the previous works.

The course is suitable for students with previous experience in watercolour and pencil drawing.

The students can visit the exhibitions free of charge on the days they attend the course.

The instructor of the course is Andrei Kedrin. He is an artist and instructor who focuses mainly on illustrations, watercolours and street art. He is the initiator of the art series “Wednesday Sketching” and the co-founder of Sodacats, a street art team.
