School break in Kumu. Art or Science
During the autumn break, you can create imaginative science pictures at the Kumu Education Centre.
The “Art or Science” exhibition looks at the relationship between art and science in the 19th century and the early 20th century, and the open workshop aims to create fantastic scientific images. We will look at how science plates were constructed, what artists and scientists considered important in the past, and how this has changed over time.
In October, the “School break in Kumu” programme will take the form of an open workshop. We recommend that you visit the exhibition before or after the workshop.
Children and young people aged 6*–12 and their parents are welcome to participate. If you are older than 12 but would like to join, please come.
* Children six to eight years old (inclusive) must be accompanied by parents.
The working language of the workshop is Estonian, Russian or English.
Participation for children 8 €, adults with a museum ticket.
