The aim of the series is to offer emerging artists the opportunity to perform on Niguliste Museum’s magnificent Estonia concert grand piano in its beautiful historic interior. The idea for The Seasons of Piano Music emerged when Estonian real estate developer Merko, a long-time supporter of Niguliste Museum, donated a new Estonia concert piano to the museum.
Tiit Tomp began his piano studies at the Tallinn Music High School in the class of Martti Raide. In autumn 2022, he continued his studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT) in Mihkel Poll’s piano class.
He has received awards at both international and national competitions, including 1st prize at the Inter School Piano Competition (2022), 3rd prize at the 12th Riga International Competition for Young Pianists (2022), and 3rd prize along with the EAMT special award at the 10th Estonian Pianists’ Competition. In 2022, he received the title of Tallinn Talent, and in 2024 he was awarded the Lilian Semper Scholarship at the EAMT pianists’ competition.
Tiit Tomp has performed widely across Europe, including Germany, Lithuania, Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, and Estonia. Alongside his solo performances, he is active as a chamber musician, has performed as a pianist with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, appeared as a soloist with the TMKK Symphony Orchestra, and participated in the Pärnu Music Festival, the KRATT Festival, and the piano music festival KLAVER. He has further refined his skills in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Aristo Sham, Lilya Zilberstein, Dmitry Alexeev, Eteri Andjaparidze, Dina Yoffe, Till Fellner, Ivari Ilja, among others.
The concerts are organised by Niguliste Museum in cooperation with the NGO Kammermuusikud
