The Finnish environmental sociologist Outi Autti, the British film-maker Ruth Maclennan and the curators Ann Mirjam Vaikla and Hanna Laura Kaljo will lead a conversation exploring the notions of belonging, environmental change and cultural resilience.

The event is headlined by Seán Kissane’s keynote lecture “Common Threads: Art and the Fabric of Shared Histories in Nation-Building” and is followed by a round-table discussion.

At the March Family Morning, we’ll take a close look at the building where so much art can be found and embark on an exciting journey into the hidden places of Kumu!

Workshop participants will have access to smaller objects and some fascinating materials, which they can turn into accessories according to their own designs.

Inspired by Erki Kasemets’s installation LIFE-FILE, a workshop will be held in the Kumu Atrium in which ordinary milk cartons will be transformed into works of art.

Each Saturday and Sunday, starting at 4 pm, traditional organ music performances take place in the museum. Classical and modern organ music is played by the Niguliste Museum organists Andres Uibo and Tiit Kiik.
