Choral music at Niguliste. “Thinking of You”. The female choir Meretule
Conductor: Elen Ilves
Piano: Aime Pärisalu
The concert “Thinking of You” features contemplative and lyrical choral works by Estonian composers – music that is a joy both to sing and to hear. By reflecting on the people and circumstances around us, hoping for the best, and creating beauty ourselves, we can dwell for a moment in a world filled only with good wishes.
Programme
Estonian composers Cyrillus Kreek, Pärt Uusberg, Veljo Tormis, Gustav Ernesaks
The female choir Suurupi naiskoor Meretule has grown and developed under the guidance of conductor Elen Ilves. Over fifteen years of active performance, we have taken part in every National Song Festival, participated in numerous county-level song festivals and gatherings across Estonia, and given many concerts both in our home municipality of Harku and abroad. To add excitement and test our skills, we have competed in choir competitions and festivals both at home and internationally. The women of Meretule are united by a passionate desire to sing together and by our wonderful creative leader, Elen, whose choice of repertoire resonates with us all.
With the concert ticket, you can also visit the museum’s exhibition before the concert begins.
Participation is free of charge with an annual pass to the Art Museum of Estonia.
